Photo Day – Just a reminder that Friday, October 3rd is Photo Day at Brigadoon.  Remember your smile!

Food Drive – Brigadoon will be having a Food Drive running from Monday, October 6th to Friday, October 17th.  All items will be donated to the Food Bank.  Thanks for your support!

Staff Changes – We have had some changes at Brigadoon since the beginning of September.  We added a Gr. 4/5 class this year and we would like to welcome Lindsey Gottvald (from Alpine P.S.).  Mrs. Austin accepted a teaching position at Jean Steckle and we would like to wish her all the best. Jordan Patrick (from Queen Elizabeth P.S.) will take over Mrs. Austin’s Gr. 6 class.  Both teachers will start at Brigadoon on Monday, October 6th.  We would also like to welcome Sue Laking back to Brigadoon as a secretary two days a week.

School Council – Thank you to those parents who attended our first School Council Meeting.  School Council will take place on the 4th Monday of the month from 7:00 to 8:30 in our Library.  All parents are welcome to attend.

Terry Fox Run – Congratulations Brigadoon!  We were able to collect $1 220.71 this year for the Terry Fox Foundation in honour of Terry Fox!  Thank you so much to everyone for your support and generosity.

Running Club – Thanks to Ms. Nichols for coordinating a Running Club for students in Gr. 4-6!

Halloween Dance –  Our Brigadoon Halloween Dance will take place on Thursday, October 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A flyer will be sent home with more details in the near future.

EQAO Results – We received our Gr. 3 and 6 EQAO results and individual student results have been sent home for parents.  The percentage of Brigadoon students achieving Level 3 or higher (Provincial Standard):

Gr. 3 – Reading – 72%, Writing – 72%, Mathematics – 81%

Gr. 6 – Reading – 88%, Writing – 83%, Mathematics – 58%
