Brigadoon Public School prides itself in being a supportive community.  We endeavour to take care of one another but we also know that it is important to reach out to neighbours when our help is needed.  We have neighbours in the Pioneer Park Public School community who are in need of supplementary grocery items.  Our collective goal in this School Council sponsored event is to gather enough non-perishable food items to provide 15 grocery bags for a weekend in April, May and June.  In doing this, we will be able to assist 15 families this spring.

Some of the suggested food items include the following:

-nut free granola bars for packing lunches

-sugar-free applesauce (lunch size packs)

-boxed cereals (preferably a lower sugar variety)

-canned fruits & vegetables

-dry pasta & canned or jarred pasta sauces

-canned tuna

In addition, a group of staff and parent volunteers will be supplementing our grocery bags with fresh produce each month.  We graciously accept any grocery gift cards or monetary donations if you would like to support our community’s endeavour to be inclusive, caring neighbours.  

Our food drive begins Tuesday, April 3rd and will run through Thursday, April 12th.  Thank you in advance for your kindness and support!
