Food Drive – The Brigadoon Food Drive was a huge success!  The food items that were donated will go to families right here in Kitchener-Waterloo who need help getting healthy food.  Thank you so much for the generous support, from the students in Room 19.

Safe Welcome Program – Just a reminder that our Safe Welcome Program that was mandated by the Ministry of Education and the WRDSB will begin on October 28th.  All outside doors will be locked.  Access to the school is to be made from the front door where a buzzer to the front desk will activate an intercom and access to the schoool can be granted.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate our way through this new program.

Halloween Dance – Our Halloween Family Dance is on Thursday, October 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The cost will be $5 per family.  We hope to see you there!

A reminder that we are looking for 3-4 volunteers for each 30 minute time slot at each station including set-up and clean-up at the end. If anyone has decorations they would like to lend out for the evening, that would be great. I have also asked some children to make some art that we can post around the gym. Without our volunteers, events like the Halloween Family Dance would not be possible. Thank you in advance for your time. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me at dijanadg@rogers.com. Once I have enough volunteers I will send out the completed volunteer schedule to all volunteers and it will be posted at the event just outside of the main office (in case you need to refer to it).

Pumpkin Carving Contest – We are excited about the Pumpkin Carving Contest that will take place on Friday, October 31st.  Please remember to bring change to vote for your favourite pumpkins in the following categories: funniest, scariest, most original, pet themed, longest nose, most warty, smallest and biggest. Students can drop off the pre-carved or pre-decorated pumpkin between 8:50 and 9:20 a.m. in the Library.  Pumpkins can be picked up between 3:45 and 4:15 p.m.  We are looking forward to seeing all of the creative pumpkins!  Thanks so much to Jacqueline Armstrong-Gates for coordinating this great event for students!

Boomerang Lunch – Please see the attached update Boomerang Lunch

Parent-Teacher Interviews – We are going use School-Day to organize Parent-Teacher Interviews. This will allow families to arrange consecutive interview times for siblings.  In order to access the School-Day interview schedule, you must subscribe to School-Day.  You may do this via our Brigadoon Website.  You will have access to your child(ren)’s teacher’s schedule in the afternoon of October 29th.  Please follow the attached instructions for reserving your interview time.PARENT information for Parent Teacher Interviews
