On Monday, May 19, an isolated incident occurred involving School-Day where an unexpected message was shared with the Brigadoon PS community. The message only contained one word, was non-malicious, and was sent using a vendor administration account.

Upon discovery of the incident, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) reported the issue to the vendor.

Vendor and ITS Investigation

Both the vendor and WRDSB’s Information Technology Services (ITS) have conducted their own investigations into this occurrence. The vendor has confirmed that there were no breaches of personal or sensitive information. They have found and rectified the issue that led to the message being sent.

School-Day continues to monitor their systems closely, and are implementing further security enhancements to strengthen the platform. We share a commitment to ensuring the security and protection of personal information for all School-Day users.
