Seasonal Concert – Brigadoon’s Seasonal Concert will be here before you know it! Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. This year we will also be offering an Afternoon Performance on Wednesday, Decemember 10th at 12:30. To help alleviate crowding and parking issues at the evening performance, we are encouraging extended family members to attend the afternoon performance along with our Brigadoon students. Thank you to all staff and students who have been working hard these past few weeks!
New Brigadoon Spirit Wear – Brigadoon will be selling new spiritwear t-shirts and sweatshirts from Monday, November 24th until Wednesday, December 3rd. A letter and order form were sent home with each student on Friday, November 21st. We hope you like our new logos. Thanks so much to Lesley Fitter for all of her hard work designing the the logos for our school!
Full Day Kindergarten – We are hosting a FDK Literacy Session on Wednesday, November 26th from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. We hope you can attend! We are also hosting a Kindergarten Holiday Concert and Open House on Friday, December 12th from 2:00 – 3:45 p.m.

School Council – Our next School Council meeting is on Monday, November 24th. We hope to see you there! Just a reminder that we do not have a meeting in December.
SK Parents – French Immersion Registration – Just a reminder that registration for the Gr. 1 French Immersion program for the 2015-2016 school year begins on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 and runs until Saturday, January 31, 2015.
Christmas Miracle Food Project (Toonies for Tins) – Brigadoon will be collecting toonies and food items again this year from Monday, December 1st – Wednesday, December 17th. This money and food will go towards creating 50 food hampers to help families in our community during the holiday season. We appreciate your support!
Angel Tree – We are continuing the tradition at Brigadoon of providing our students with the opportunity to donate a gift to a girl or boy instead of buying a gift for their teacher. Beginning Monday, December 8th and continuing to Monday, December 15th, students can bring in a new unwrapped gift that will be distributed by the Salvation Army. Gifts should be delivered to the Christmas tree, just outside the office.
Super Seasonal Sale – Ms. Patrick’s Grade Six class is hosting our annual Super Seasonal Sale. The sale will be held on Wednesday, December 17th, 2014. It’s a great way for students to go shopping for presents they want to give to their families and friends! Donating used items will keep them out of the landfill.
We are seeking gently used toys and household items (e.g., books, toys, stuffed animals, baby toys, candles, purses, bags, ties, movies, video games rated C or E, etc.). We are also asking for wrapping paper, gift bags, tape, ribbons, bows, and name tags.
All proceeds will go to Sunbeam Lodge, a place in our community that supports people with medical issues. All left over items will be donated to a local second hand store.
Please bring in as many items as you can. It will make a difference! Thank you in advance from everyone in Ms. Patrick’s class.
We Day – We Day was an inspirational day! Thirteen Brigadoon students joined 7,500 other students for this great event. They taught us about Economic Empowerment, Technological Empowerment, Social Empowerement and Educational Empowerment. There were a number of motivational speakers including Marc and Craig Kielburger (who founded WE DAY), Spencer West, David Williams (an astronaut) and Captain Phillips (who got captured by pirates). The people who went to WE DAY were inspired to do great things for our local and global communities. It has motivated us to continue with our “Build A School” fundraiser and to begin to think of new charities we want to be involved in. Alicia M., Kiara F. and Emma C.
